Sound Mandala Institute
One of my primary areas of expertise and research is immersive audio. In 2023, co-founder Tom Mardikes and I created The Sound Mandala Institute - a 503(c)3 organization dedicated to research in immersive audio experiences, immersive mixing techniques, sonic motion, and other listener experiences. At its core, it is an immersive loudspeaker environment which has had many iterations since its development in 2015. In the most recent iteration we built an 80-channel system within a black-box theatre, and put on public performances in the summer of 2024. We are currently designing a 100-channel octogon which will see performances in June-August 2025. Please visit the Sound Mandala website for full information.
